Lava Glass Sculpture Garden celebrates Garden of Significance designation

We are excited to formally announce that New Zealand Gardens Trust has endorsed the Lava Glass Sculpture Garden as a Garden of Significance. For this reason, preparations are in full swing for a little garden party on the first weekend of September.

“We are so proud of the efforts of the Lava Glass team,” said Lynden Over. “Since the inception of the garden, we have continually added new works and plantings to ensure each time someone enjoys a walk in the garden they are surprised and excited”

Free Garden Entry 01 & 02 September, New Sculpture, Live Music, Picnic

To share the unique garden experience with as many people as possible and to mark this special occasion, we’d like to invite you to a little garden party. The entry to the Lava Glass Sculpture Garden will be free to all visitors on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of September 2018. There will be a new sculpture to admire. Our café will prepare picnic boxes to enjoy in the garden and in the afternoons live music will ensure everyone has a magical time.

The Lava Glass Sculpture Garden features more than 600 handcrafted glass sculptures and is the only garden of its kind in New Zealand. The garden was laid out 4 years ago and officially opened by former New Zealand prime minister Sir John Key. With its new four-star rating by the New Zealand Gardens Trust, it joins other gardens in the region which provide visitors from all corners of the globe with a unique and unforgettable New Zealand experience.
